Gangtok-Lachen-Tallem-Jakthang-Yabuk-Darjeeling

Arrival at NJP Railway Station / (IXB) Bagdogra Airport, transfer to Gangtok – Capital of the 22nd State of India, Sikkim enjoys a mild, temperate climate all year round and offers spectacular views of the Himalayan ranges. This is a scenic and winding drive, takes you along the River Teesta which leads to the capital of Sikkim. Arrival at Gangtok, Check - in to Hotel. Overnight stay at Gangtok.
Drive / Trek - Gangtok Sight Seeing Early morning after breakfast visit to the Rumtek Dharma Chakra Center, situated 24 kilometers from Gangtok. Way back visit Do-Drul Chorten Stupa, an inspiring stupa – Tibetology - An institution, devoted to Tibet logy.After lunch visit Institute of Handicrafts & Cottage Industries -. Overnight stay at Gangtok.
Drive - Gangtok - Lachen (2728 meters / 8950 feet) 125 kilometers, 6 - 7 hours After breakfast drive by jeep passing through Tashi View Point, Kabi Lungtsok, Phodong Monastery, Mangan and Chungthang (approximately 95 kms). Lunch at Chungthang - Chungthang stands on an alpine meadow from which rise the pine clad mountains with their snowy peaks (approximately 30 kms from Chungthang). Overnight stay at Lachen.
Trek - Lachen (2728 meters / 8950 feet) - Talem (3468 meters / 11, 378 feet) - 5 - 6 hours After break fast, drive towards Zema (20 minutes). The trek starts from Zema to Tallem along the Zemu River towards west. The going in this section is usually slow as the path travels through water logged Rhododendron thickets and fallen tree trunks. Lunch at Tallem and in the afternoon free for exploring the area. Overnight stay at Camp.
Trek - Tallem (3468 meters / 11, 378 feet) - Jakthang (3176 meters / 10,419 feet) 4 - 5 hours. After breakfast Trek from Tallem to Jakthang. Some of the most magnificent forest areas for which Sikkim is famous for lies in this route. Cross a bridge to climb steadily through forest - Lunch at Camp. Afternoon free for independent activities. Overnight stay at Camp.
Trek - Jakthang (3176 meters / 10,419 feet) - Yabuk (3978 meters / 13,051 feet) 4 - 5 hours After breakfast,trek through forest and after a short climb it crosses a log bridge over Thomphyak Chu. One has to descend to the bank of the river Zemu Chu and follow the trail beside the river. The path to Yabuk climbs through the forest and after about three hours of steady walking reach the snout of the Zemu glacier. It is a small but beautiful camping area very cold and windy near the glacier. Lunch at Camp. Afternoon free for independent activities. Overnight stay at Camp.
Trek - Yabuk - (3978 meters / 13,051 feet - Camp - 4570 meters / 14,994 feet) - 5 Hours After breakfast trek from Yabuk to Rest Camp follows the Zemu Glacier; The trail is through moraine field of the Zemu Glacier, crossing boulders and pebbles. As the trail opens into the valley the great peaks come into view. The Rest Camp is situated just opposite Mount Siniolchu which is one of the most beautiful peak of Sikkim. Overnight stay at Camp.
Trek - Rest Camp - (4570 meters / 14,994 feet) - Green Lake - (5050 meters / 16,568 feet) - 4 - 5 hours. After breakfast trek from Rest Camp gently climbs up the valley. On a clear day this is one of the most beautiful walks in the Himalaya. Mount Siniolchu, Mount Simvo, Mount Kanchendzonga and Mount Chomolhari are some of the giants that dominate the horizon. A view one will cherish throughout the life. Overnight stay at Green Lake Plain.
Trek - Rest Day at an altitude of 5050 meters / 16,568 feet will give a feeling like staying at the top of the world After breakfast full day sightseeing at Green Lake and nearby areas. Overnight stay at Green Lake.
Trek - Green Lake - (5050 meters / 16,568 feet) - to Yabuk - (3978 meters / 13,051 feet) After breakfast trek from from Green Lake to Yabuk in one day as the trail is mostly down hill and the descent is 1067 meters / 3500 feet - The road is nice and the trek easy. Overnight stay at Yabuk.
Trek - Yabuk - (3978 meters / 13,051 feet) - to Tallem - (3468 meters / 11, 378 feet) - 4 - 5 Hours After breakfast advisable to trek back towards Yabuk with moderate pace and enjoy the beauty of the trek. Overnight stay at Tallem.
Trek - Tallem - (3468 meters / 11, 378 feet) to Lachen (2728 meters / 8950 feet) - 4 - 4 ½ hours After breakfast trek to Lachen.Trek through the varied flora and fauna of the region. The trek passes through the dense coniferous forests of Kanchendzonga National Park – This return journey is nostalgic. Overnight stay at Lachen.
Drive - Lachen to Gangtok After breakfast drive to Gangtok, Visit Phodong Monastery. Afternoon free for individual activities. Overnight stay at Gangtok.
After breakfast drive to Darjeeling. Afternoon free for indivisual activities. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.
Local Sight Seeing at Darjeeling Early morning tour to Tiger Hills (at around 4 AM) to view sunrise over Kanchendzonga Peak (subject to clear weather). On the way back visit Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop (an Engineering marvel). After breakfast half - day sight seeing of Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park & Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday), Tenzing & Gombu Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center (Closed on Sunday) & Tea Estate OR visit to Rock Garden & Ganga Maya Lake. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.
After Breakfast – In time transfer to Railway Station/airport for connect Train/ Flight to further destination.
