Day by day

The itinerary

9 days, with space for the unexpected.

Day 1Arrival DIMAPUR – KOHIMA (74 kms/3 hrs)

Arrival at Dimapur, the commercial hub of Nagaland. Meet and assist at the airport and transfer to Kohima – Home of the Angami Nagas, the capital of Nagaland and also the second largest village in Asia. On arrival check into hotel. Dinner and Overnight stay at Kohima.

Day 2KOHIMA – KHONOMA

After breakfast visit the local vegetable and fish market and then proceed to an Angami Naga Village – Khonoma village, 20 km / 1 hr, famous for its valour and fiercely independent mindset. Back to Kohima for lunch. Afternoon visit the Kisama Naga model village and the II world War cemetery. Dinner and overnight stay at Kohima.

Day 3KOHIMA – TOUPHEMA (42 kms/2 hrs)

After breakfast sightseeing of Touphema tourist village. En route visit the state museum (closed on Monday and govt. holidays).Arrival at Touphema check in to Guest House. Afternoon visit ‘Touphema Bawe’ – the old village. Evening witness traditional presentation from the local villagers. Overnight stay at Touphema.

Day 4TOUPHEMA – MOKOKCHUNG (120 kms/5 hrs)

After breakfast drive to Mokokchung. En route visit through villages of the Rengma tribes at Tsemenyiu On arrival check into the tourist Lodge. Overnight stay at Mokokchung.

Day 5MOKOKCHUNG – MON (260 kms/9 hrs)

After breakfast drive to Mon, home of the famous “Konyak” Nagas through lush green valleys of the tea-estates of Assam. “Konyak” are seen by everyone as the most backward of the sixteen Naga tribes. This is the most traditional tribe. Overnight stay at Mokokchung.

Day 6MON – LONGWA (40 kms/2 hrs)

After breakfast excursion to Longwa village perched dominantly on a ridge between India and Myanmar. Return to Mon for overnight stay.

Day 7MON – LANGMEANG (42 kms/2 hrs )

After breakfast excursion to Langmeang village, one of the most traditional villages where you can still see people gathering in the ‘Morung’– the traditional dormitory. Meet village folk, see their way of life. Then on our way back, if time permits we can visit the Chui village. Return to Mon in the evening. Overnight stay at Mon.

Day 8LANGMEANG-DIBRUGARH

After breakfast drive to Dibrugarh, Assam. EN ROUTE visit the ancient capital of the Ahoms – Shiv Sagar. Arrival & check into hotel. Afternoon if time permits, visit the local market.Overnight stay at Dibrugarh.

Day 9DIBRUGARH Departure

In time transfer to airport for connect flight to further destination.
